So, I was talking to my daughter and learned their dad has gone TDY ( military business trip) for 6 months. He has been gone a month already. He left MY kids with his wife. He has physical custody. She has no rights.

What would you do? What should I do?

Update page 4

Ok. So here is the real sitch. I am the daughter telling her mom about dad's business trip. 20 years ago. Wanted to see how people might react if it was contemporary. All other descriptions are based in fact. I was a senior in high school.

How old are they? It's unusual for the service member to receive full custody generally, unless it's specified that the new spouse is able to watch the kids.

You can't do a thing. It is temporary.

umm if he has custody then there really isn't anything you can do. Clearly you were founded unfit in some way............. You might not think that she doesn't have any rights, but a POA fixes that right up

Im sure his spouse is his family care plan. Unless its court ordered for deployments or separations the children go to mom nothing's wrong with this. If they dont live in the same area I wouldn't want my kids to change schools.

So why don't you have custody of your kids then and how is it that he's been gone a month and you are just now finding out? Do you not even have visitation?
