My mother is p***ing me off

I am pregnant. It was not planned. The father is involved but we have no intention of marrying.
I was complaining to her because he started being a jerk about everything when I told him the baby is going to have my last name.

She thinks I am being stupid to not give the baby his last name. And she constantly tells me so. Even after I told her to drop it that I wasnt changing my mind.

Due to his job he will see the baby 3x a month. (3 days not weekends or anything)

I will be the one doing all doctors.
I will be the one at all school functions.
I will be the one that is notified in an emergency.

I am not changing my mind on this.

She's right. If you two ever grow up and get married you'll regret not giving your child your shared name.

Don't let her talk you out of it. I think it's a good idea. Maybe call a trusted friend whenever you want to vent about the baby's dad. Only give your mom little info.

I can understand why your making that decision. I would let everyone else's opinion in one ear out the other

I'm not taking sides hear But...

If you plan on his financial responsibility's being in legal writing..  cant he fight this in court ?   I do not know.]

And as for your Mom, you need to lean what to tell her and how Now because nosiness won't stop at this.

Thank you!
I found it the most logical thing too. And after the dad found out I was not going to change my mind he has accepted it (I guess. He stooped being a jerk and hasn't brought it up again, but this may change when its almost baby time)
And yet my mom won't drop it.

2 moms liked this
It isn't hard to change a name later if that ever did happen.
And I find it more responsible to not jump into marriage just because of a baby. I would rather not wind up in divorce court a year from now.
