Ever moved across the country??

DH and I want to move. We have an opportunity to do so, but no job lined up just yet. He can likely find one, but is worried about settling for minimum wage. He does software which isn't in high demand everywhere like it is here in WA. We would love TN, KY, or MT. Our goal is to be less dependent on the grid and be more self sufficient.

Has anyone ever moved across the country? How did you make the decision to go?

I moved out if Kentucky, I wouldn't recommend it.

What were your reasons for moving? I'd love an insider's perspective!

We moved because of my SO's job, if you live in smaller towns there's just no room to expand job wise. I had two college degrees and ended up working daycares.

We just moved from Chicago to Seattle a few months ago, but we did it for work.

Fun! We'd make sure to have job(s) lined up, but there is no point in moving if there are no jobs. If that makes sense...

Yes, we did a 1000 mile move. But we had a job lined up first. No way I'd do it otherwise.

We moved from Washington to Kentucky 6 yrs ago, I miss Washington but I like that fact that there is a lot less people and crime here, it's more peaceful and laid back here also.
