We turn on the tv in our room, then if they hear anything beyond that we blame it on a show.

Make sure they are asleep and shut our bedroom door. Really not that hard

Well, when he was little we would have the stereo on, wait until he was asleep, be in the bathroom with the shower or tub running.

 Now that he's 17 those are all pretty obvious, so now it's whenever he's not at home is the only to make sure he doesn't hear. Or just know what's going on.

Yeah in some ways, it doesn't get easier as they get older really. LOL
