in one post (the step mom taking the step dd bike riding) you all said she wasnt a real parent and she shouldnt be doing thing with the step child

but now in this new post where the step mom is miscarrying and the bio mom told her to deal with the sdd your all saying the step mom should deal with her

*headdesk* make up your damn minds jesus, either the step mom is nothing and shouldnt be around the kid or the step mom is indeed a parent and should deal with everything that comes with being a parent

Personally I think a step parent is also a parent. I dont see a problem with step parents spending time and doing activities with step children. I think people need to get over themselves and their jealousy for their children's sake.

Honestly I would be happy to have my ex marry someone who cared about my child as much as I do.

nobody said the step mom shouldnt be around the kid, I know I said the step mom is a babysitter not an actual legal parent. I didnt read or comment on the other post.

I think step parents are secondary parents.

You're right! It's crazy. Step-moms can't catch a break. Damned if they do, damned if they don't.

I grew up with the idea that a step parent is a parent. Of course they don't have as much power as mom and dad, but it should e somewhat equal.

I've read the step moms group a few times.... Apparently step parents aren't allowed to do anything.

Step parents are parents, sometimes more so than biological parents.

I like bike rides. Even with step moms. So thats my stance.

Children need functioning caring adults around them. Period!!!!!!!!

I think sm / sds should be inconsequential and bio parents need to communicate and make decisions on the.child.
