When you were in middle school how was music class graded?

My daughter has a c in choir somehow and I have taken her to all her practices and concerts. She keeps getting bs and C's on things called compositions and apparently they are tests on the music.

I have never heard of having tests, actual written tests in a damn choir class

Basically on behavior and participation if I remember correctly.

It was almost 30 years ago, though.

That's how we were graded too! When looking over her grades I see a c in choir and I go into it and see things like composition 1,2,3...

I emailed the choir teacher and she says they are tests based on the music: composers, ect.

There were tests worksheets in my music class also, but our teacher was an easy grader. Participation was what he emphasized most.

Participation only

We never had tests. Times have changed...learn to adapt. Now there are tests, even in music class.

Participation. We did worksheets sometimes, together as a class. Our final was a solo or duet that had to be sung at a concert or in front of the class.

We didnt have a music class or choir in jr.high. You had to Choose band or art. And band was graded on competition participation.
