Absolutely especially if it's an in demand trade. Plumbers make excellent money.

Yes. Blue-collar doesn't mean broke. Pay is increased by skill and dependability. My father made a 6 figure salary with a great retirement. My brother does very well, too. Caveat - they are both union, but private contractors and their employees can make huge money if they have the skill and hustle.

Yes particularly in some trades. Even more so if you start your own business. I know a tile layer-own small firm with 3-5 employees. He  nets about $250,000 a year.

High school diploma and on the job training.

In some trades yes. There's also the possibility of moving to white collar positions like management, I know people who started on the shop floor and now make six figures lording it over large groups of workers.
