I hosted an underage drinking party!

My parents had their 50th wedding anniversary this past weekend. We hosted it at our house and most of my family was there and some friends of mine or my families.

Well we all had a glass of wine including my kids (16, 17, and 18) and some of my nieces and nephews who are around the same ages.

Well one of my sisters friends got really offended and said that we should not be condoning illegal drinking. I explained to her that it wasnt illegal and I have no problem letting my kids have a glass of wine. She like freaked out and left

We still had fun anyway but now she wont talk to my sister because of the "underage drinking party" we had. I think it is hilarious

How is allowing children to drink not illegal?

In many states it is perfectly legal for a parent to provide their child with alcohol

I see. My state has an outright ban on consumption for minors, period.

Well almost all states have an exception. What state do you live in?

You would never let your kids drink wine with dinner?

I have no issues with you providing your own kids with alcohol if that's what you want to do.

The issue I would have is whether or not you had permission to provide your nieces and nephews with alcohol.

Of course I had their permission.

I see nothing wrong with that. One of the main reasons the us has so many more issues with underage drinking over other Countries is the drinking age. How can you say someone is old enough to die for their country but not old enough to have a glass of wine with dinner?
