Apparently here in Nevada it is legal for an underage kid to drink alcohol without parental permission

I am so angry...i thought it was illegal. I knew a parent could provide it but I didnt realize that they could do it without parental permission/presence

He came home still drunk and I called the police but there is nothing that could be done even though he is only 16. He will never go to that friends house again or probably any other friends houses for awhile now.

Ugh I am so frustrated over this.

You may not legally be able to do anything but that's still your kid that lives in your house. Put your foot down.

Is this a spin off? I just read another post from the opposite perspective.

Were the parents home? Why did you call the police?

Yes the parents were home and knew about it

You wouldnt call the police if your 16 year old came home drunk after being allowed to drink at a friends house?

Well if you didnt give him permission I'd press charges against the family who let him drink. I find it very hard to believe the police wouldn't do anything.

Focus your anger in the right place, towards your son. Whatever the situation he could have and should have said NO.
