My sisuunlessg about being pregnant. She is also living with me. When I called her out on her lie because she refused to let me help her get insurance. She said if she looses the baby due to stress she will hurt me herself. She said it via text I have screen shot it and I told her if she's not out by next Friday I will go to the court house and get a restraining order. By law I have to give her 10days. I already asked for the cops to come take her out a few weeks ago They told me legally I can't do anything unless i gave her 10 days. things got bbetter she got help for a bit but then refused to continue to attend therapy and her meds claiming she's pregnant but she refuses to let me help her or take her to fill out a Medicaid app and makes all these excuses as to why we can't do it. So I asked her are you really pregnant. She said yes and if you make me loose this baby ill hurt you myself. So I'm giving her 10 days like I have to for 2 reasons one I have to and 2 I know she won't touch me.

Why do you need a restraining order? Just evict her.

Yes.  If it is in writing, it is considered to be serious.

Give her the ten days to get out. If she doesn't then get the police to escort her out.
I wouldn't go filing a order. They aren't as easy to get as everyone on here seems to think.
It takes more then one threat out of anger. It takes real danger. As of right now there is a threat. But no real danger. Just get her out and if the threats keep up then go through the police

Talk to a lawyer (a real one, not imaginary internet lawyers) or call the police non emergency line. And good luck because that's crazy!

Restaining orders aren't really that easy to get but getting her out in 10 days is a great idea. It's good that you doccumented the threat so if there are subsiquent threats or actions of violence attempted by her youcan ge that restraining order. I'm sorry you're going through this and I hope she does get some help before she does hurt someone. It makes me afraid for her baby too(assuming she's pregnant)

I doubt it considering when a threat is made via text there is no imminent danger.

why do you need to help her do anything? if she doesnt want to then thats that. maybe you should back off a little
