Im not revealing which party I am:

Dad gives mom $150 for new shoes for their son. Mom doesnt feel the son needs that much money spent on sneakers and divides the money. Mom buys school gym shoes, outside play shoes and dressy shoes all for her son. Mom feels she spent wisely. Dad says he sent the money for one pair of GOOD shoes and thats what should have been bought.

He should have bought the shoes himself if he wanted to be picky. No way would I have spent $150 on one pair of shoes.

 I don't see an issue.

Dad needs to get over it or buy the one pair of shoes himself. At least she was responsible and actually spent all of the money on shoes for the kid instead of buying kid some pair of cheap shoes and spending the rest on herself.

I think mom is smarter than the dad.  No reason to spend $150 on one pair of shoes when you can buy 3 for $50 each.

Ha! $150 almost always pays for the name of the shoe, not necessarily the quality.
Good for the mom on spending the money wisely and buying all the shoes the child needs.

Okay, question. When dad gave mom the money, did he specifically say, "This is for ONE pair of shoes?"
