My step daughter brought home cupcakes after school. 4 of her friends were over and my husband was home, but outside doing yardwork. Our son is 5.

My stepdaughter is 16. She brought cupcakes home since it was one of the girl's birthdays. My stepdaughter claims that my son came running up saying "I want one" . She apparently said that the other girls got to pick first. She said he said "no, I want that one" and tried to grab at it. She said "if you're going to act like that I'm not giving you one", went to her room and shut her bedroom door.

My son went outside crying but my son said his dad backed up his sister. He still backs her up and she's unapologetic. I get that he was impolite, bt he was excited, and I don't feel it's her place to "discipline him", especially not with food.

I back the girl too. The boy needs to learn manners.

So your teen daughter was there with 4 of her friends and she was acting bratty towards her little brother? Oh the horror.

I have told my kids the same thing. If they're going to act like that and be grabby, they won't get one.

I back up the daughter as well.  Maybe you should teach your son how to behave.

Um, they are her cupcakes.

He doesn't get one just because he is alive.

She chose not to share. She doesn't have to share everything with him.

Maybe if you disciplined him he would be a rude demanding child. She didn't have to give him anything.

They were hers. It would be nice if she shared but she didn't. Maybe if he acted a little better she would have. Do you Always coddle him when he doesn't get his way?

She isn't required to share. Would it have been nice? Yeah, but she has no obligation to. And she wasn't "disciplining" him. Buy him his own cupcake if you're that upset about it.
