You are NOT doing you kids any service by coddling an raising over sensitive kids, teach them to stand up for themselves an have a back bone. I'm not saying raise a bully by any means, but for goodness sake teach them to be assertive in stand up for themselves an others instead of running to mommy an daddy every time someone hurts their little feelings.

Please don't

and usually, as soon as a kid stands up for themselves, a phyical fight will ensue, and then the kid gets told to 'tell a trusted adult' so it won't escalate to a fight.  So, what's a kid to do? Fight and get yelled at for it, or sit there and take it and tell someone later on?

Sorry my kids are taught to tell a responsible adult.  That is what they are there for and no this does not make them a pansy it is what they are taught to do at school and the best policy at the playground etc.

If you raise with the right tools to work things out between themselves, fighting wouldn't be an issue. Parents need to realize a kids school is THEIR community, they are responsible for their actions in their world that being school.

I agree. Kids need to sort these things out for themselves.
