Ride safer 3? Has anyone ever heard of or used these vests? I have a very small 7 yr old (just hit 42lbs) and DH'S new car has bucket seats in the rear that don't nicely hold a booster. For $130 I don't want to buy it and have it be unsafe.

I've also thought one of these would be great to put her between 2 other seats in the rear of my van.

And go....

Not unsafe, however can be a hassle getting it on and off for rides.

Have you tried a thin booster like the Recaro ProBooster?

Hmm no I havent. Do they make a low back too? She's going to be in a booster for awhile.

No, at 7 a high back is a really great option. It will be good for positioning and long car rides as well and it's got nice high slots so you can use it for 3-4 more years most likely.

1 mom liked this
According to all of the research I've done they meet all safety guidelines and have the added benefit of a lower center of gravity since the child sits in the actual seat

At 7 yes. At 11 not so much. We live in an 8 or 80lbs state so I'm sure she won't be safe under a regular belt for the next 3-4 years.
