He is freaking amazing. He is very hands on. The kids have desks but don't have to sit at them as long as they don't bother others. He gets that children don't all learn the same way and has the kids broken into groups accordingly. He assigns special projects based on interests. My dd is a dancer. Her current project is researching the history of ballet, filming herself in ballet class, watching some professional ballets, and making a presentation about it all. Her last project was the origin of the peace sign and the hippie "movement". She has done a ton of other projects as well. He has moved up with the kids from 3-5th grade. Next year however...he won't move with them.
It is a small school. Her teachers next year will move with them from 6th-8th grade. I really hope they are as amazing as the he has been. She has learned so much. She loves the research projects. He knows these kids. Not looking forward to her moving.
