If she is a first time mom and didn't know what was wrong then it makes sense. A lot of first time moms get really overwhelmed when they don't know what is going on.

That is okay, if she's a first time mom those fears are reasonable. She should talk to the hospital they have programs that help families with no insurance. Here in NY all kids qualify for health insurance, even if mom and dad don't.

Even if she was 2nd time mom if she never dealt with colic before she may not know what is normal with a colic baby.

Why the need to judge her? She was worried about her baby.

Now had her baby been screaming his head off and died you would be bitching that she didnt take a screaming baby to the hospital.

How would a newborn not have insurance?   I mean here it would be free-or cost $314 a month for full coverage if you employer dind't offer it.

And a newborn would be covered by the Mom's maternuty policy for the first 30 days.
