I've been trying to do a background check on someone but I have to pay to access criminal records. I don't want to pay just to know if he's ever been arrested for assault. Are there any sites that doesn't charge? I tried spokeo, pipl and another site but they all took me to a site that charges. It's extremely important For me to know if he has.

Look in your phone apps store. There is one, I can't remember the name, just search like background check apps, it gives you one free background check a month.

Try typing in your state inmate search. Example: California inmate search or the name of a local prison. It usually has people who have been in jail or prison and what their charges were. I have been able to get information on inmates from back in the 70's in my state.
