For those of you that own a house or are in the process, did you make a list of things you wanted in your house?  Ie. big kitchen, fireplaces ect.

We wanted a master bath with separate shower and tub. Either 2 bedroom closets, or one walk in. We preferred a family room in the back of the home. Attached 2 car garage.

If I could go back---cabinet space. Our kitchen does not have enough. I'd also want ceiling fans in every bedroom, not just ours.

Knew what we wanted and told the realtor, that way we would be shown places we liked.

No when we bought a house I just went looking and when I saw the one I  wanted I bought it. I say "I" because "he" did nothing. I looked, talked to realtors, made the offers, signed the papers, etc. He is now exdh.

No. We were too poor to even think about it

Hubby and I made a list of "must haves" and a list of "want but could live without".

We had a list of things we wanted but as you start looking at houses and seeing what is out there and what you can afford your list changes.

With it being our first we couldn't be incredibly picky but knew we wanted certain things. 3 bedrooms, basement, with appliances and ready to move in. Been 3 years and we r still happy and have yet yo have any major repairs so I think we did pretty OK for our first house.
