my dd went into labor last night and this morning she had a beautiful baby girl. my son in laws dd(from a previous relationship) was in the room and they asked her what she wanted the babies name to be. the little girl said "Merida!" like the main character from Brave.......and they named their new baby that.......i thought they were kidding at first but they actually filled out all the paperwork and the babies name is actually Merida......*sigh* so now i have 2 grandkids one named after a video game character and one named after a disney princess......

We gave our older son a list of names we liked and let him make the final choice.

YOU might want to keep your thoughts to yourself, lol

You can still love the kids even though you don't like their names

I was at the pediatrician's office today and there was a little boy named Alexavier. I don't know how it was spelled, but it's Alex and Xavier together. Pronounced Alex-zavier. I cringed.

your son was probably older then 5 and not obsessed with disney.......imagine if her favorite movie was Cinderella? the babies name would be Cinderella

My son was 2 when I got pregnant with my daughter. He wanted to name her Spongebob. We vetoed that.

Sounds like they just wanted a reason to give the baby a Disney name :( if we would have let our five year old pick the name, we'd have a son name Candycane...
