For example, my friend who we will call K is invited.. On my guest list I am also including her fiance and daughter. Now for my question, do I have all three names put on the invitation? I don't want anyone thinking that their SO and/or children arent invited.. Also FIL and his girlfriend will be invited, do I put FILs name and his gfs name on it? I'm also not aware if she has younger children who would come with them because we really don't talk to them or ever see them.. Someone help? I'm going crazy over this petty crap! Lol

2 moms liked this
It's fine to put on the invitation "the smith family"
Or "FIL and Date"
And on the RSVP card you can ask how many adults and children will be attending.

Put either the name of their household, or each adult resident. If they have kids, just put at the bottom that kids are welcomed.

With your friend, fiance and dd I would put all three, FIL and girlfriend  I would do the same or maybe fil's name & guest.

I put the blank family. That way they knew the entire family was invited. Then if I didn't want blank person bringing a guest their invite just said their name.

An envelope question?

If they are all living in the same household, you should say Mr & Mrs and family.  If they have different names I would hypernate black-white and family.  If you don't want to invite children add that to the wedding invitation.  If you do write family on the envelope.

You should also do a google search, you'll find help that way also.

 Mr. "so & so"

Miss "so & so"

and Emily (whatever the childs name is)

Same for your FIL (without the child's name of course)

Everyone else Mr. & Mrs. "so & so"

or Mr./Mr.s/(Miss) "so & so" and Guest

Do you have an outer AND inner envelope? If so then you would put 2 names on the outside, on the inner envelope you would add the child's name.

Outside:
Mr. Josh Smith
Ms. Jenny Adams

Inside:
Josh, Jenny, and Julie
