keeping kids out late

My ex wants to return our five year old son at midnight because he wants more time with him. I told him that is far too late and to have him back at his court ordered time of 9pm unless he wants to keep him overnight. Is this unfair?

Is this a one time thing? Like he's taking hin to a late race or game?

Why can't he just bring him in the am?

Unless there's something "special" going on (like goung to the circus or something), that's way too late, IMO. My 5 yo would fall asleep way before that.

No, go by the CO. Midnight would never be ok to me. That's just messing with the child's schedule.

And honestly 9 seems late to me too.

No keeping the child it that late is crazy. I would think that would be a problem with school as well.

I am a single mom and I work most weeknights until 10pm. My girls don't usually get home until close to 11pm. It's been like that for 2 years. Kids adapt much easier than we do. No big deal.

I agree, either keep him overnight or return him by court ordered time. Midnight is a bit ridiculous!

No circus is until midnight. If he wants to keep him that late he can keep him overnight or return him at 9pm.
