Why are so many teens having babies?!

I'm in the dark. I honestly want to know. Is it trendy? Do they think it's cool to do that? Are parents being irresponsible? Is it harder to get birth control? Is abortion more expensive?

Why are so many teens having kids these days?!

Because sex in no longer taboo, morals are not taught and its cool to give every guy in your class a bj.

Or so it seems from the teens I have talked to lately.

As with many things, there are a great number of reasons.

There are teens who are actively trying to get pregnant. They have lacked proper attention and guidance. After years of bullying and emotional neglect, they imagine that becoming a mother will make them worthwhile, and that the baby will love them unconditionally. It is unfortunate, sad, and very preventable.

Others do it to attempt to keep their boyfriends close, or to get back at their parents.

Some are taught abstinence only, and really are clueless when it comes to fertility.

There are those who believe that it couldn't possibly happen to them.

The list goes on and on.

Fortunately, a few solutions could cut out several of those reasons. Active and loving parents can go a long way in ensuring their daughters do not have children as children. They need to be aware of what their daughter is doing, and how she is feeling. Proper sex education is another important key in prevention.
