Tough situation for my Dh, what would you do??

My father is coming home, he has lived out of state for the last two years. I have not seen him at all in that time. He will be here Sunday.

Sunday is also my Dh's neices 18th birthday party. He is torn between taking DD(who doesn't remember my father) to the party or staying home to be here when dad gets here.

I told Dh to take DD to the party, she is very close to his family and will enjoy her time. She doesn't remember my dad and since he is staying with us until he finds a place of his own she will be able to spend a lot of time with him on other days.

Should he stay home or go to the party?

Party! If they're going to see him anyway... It will be nice to have alone time with him.

She is 4.5 so she still has a hard time choosing what she wants.

Go, that will also give your dad a chance to get settled and rest for a little while.
