I need to get some kind of long-term contraception. I'm looking at Mirena and tubal ligation.
If you have any experience with either of these, please share it with me.

Omg! It is still in you? I thought you got it approved to get it removed.

I'm going to the doctor next week to talk about Mirena and Paragard.

I had Mirena in for a year and I hated it. It made me really depressed and I lost a lot of hair. I am so glad that I got it removed.

However, it effects everyone differently and it may be perfectly fine for you. Good luck (:

I never liked hormonal BC, and I'm too young for a tubal. We prefer to use condoms and NFP. Good luck with your decision!

I did, then my Doctor got cold feet and decided something else was wrong with me and didn't want to go through with the very risky procedure because some of my symptoms didn't add up. She wanted me to have full work ups done by my primary care and then if my primary care physician said it was the Essure, she would remove it. I've been trying to get better on my own but I feel like it actually shaved years off of my life. My symptoms have decreased quite a bit at this point and I'm no longer sure that it's worth the risk of surgery.
