LOL - some schools are ridiculous.

I keep my kids home just for fun, sometimes.

I certainly wouldn't ever send them to school sick.

Sick kids in school would up the numbers of the absent. Better one kid missing school than come and cough on everyone.

Eta- if you don't infer that I'm talking about a sick cough, get off CM immediately and seriously think about the term "obvious".

Dd had walking pnemonia once and missed a week and half of school. They threatened truancy. Of course they didn't when I provided a doctor's note. And no she had only missed 2 days before then.

It's both. They shouldn't be absent but sometimes it is necessary.

My sons elementary motto is "school all day, everyday". Ridiculous if you ask me. That makes the kids feel as though, they can't miss, even if sick.

All you have to do is get a doctors note and everything is fine. You get truancy for unexcused absences.
