Yesterday we went to a birthday party , several children were there. One guest had a child with a runny nose, coughing everywhere and putting her hands all over everything and everyone. This morning my 11 month old woke up with a 103.7 fever, my 3 year old is coughing and her eyes are matted shut! ! Off to the doctor we go! !!!!

9 moms liked this

your children were exposed before yesterday then, the symptoms yesterday didn't get your kids sick

Well considering that a flu virus/infection has a three-four day incubation period, BEFORE SYMPTOMS SHOW I'd say your kids were already sick

But, a boogery nasty kid is not cool

Nope. Sorry, not matter how sick and "nasty" as you say, that child was.  The incubation period for the common cold is about 2 weeks.  Your kids picked their cold up somewhere else, not at the birthday party. SMDH

Sorry she is feeling bad.  It probably wasn't the sick child at the party. It takes a little longer than that for a child to come up with an illness after being exposed.  It takes 2 to 3 days in some cases and a week or two in others. Hope she gets well soon. Although that child should not have been there.  Your child was actually already giving off germs before she showed symptoms.  Good luck, get well soon little one.

Sounds a bit fast. Doubt it was from the other child.

I doubt they got sick from that child. I hope they feel better soon though!
