My dad got into his 3rd rear ending car accident THIS YEAR! He has such bad luck and every time it screws his neck up. He had to have over 19 operations on it because he broke it in his first accident about fifteen years ago.

He is okay right now, just really sore. He took some time off of work.

Well it just dawned on me that Zander's car seat was in the car, so now I can't use it :( We don't go anywhere anyway, so I can wait until I get my next check, but it still sucks.

My sons aunt from his dad side is a police officer and she can get them for free because of that. She has gotten me the last 2 we needed.

The thing is though, is that she just got me this one in December so I don't know if she will be able to get a new one so soon. But I asked his dad if he could ask her, because she is coming up in a few days.

I guess we will see.

Stupid reckless drivers.

Also, don't be afraid to call the local Fire Department or Police Department.  Sometimes they have drives to get carseats to families in need, or at the very least know of some ideas.  Just in case insurance tries to be jerks about it.

Insurance covered my new car seats, but you have to tell them.

if they have insurance file the claim through the insurance and have them replace the carseat.

when we got rear ended by a drunk driver his insurance company had to replace three carseats and a stroller that was in the trunk when he rear ended us.
