Mom Told to Keep Her Cleavage Out of Disney's 'Family Park'

by Lisa Fogarty

Ask anyone from La Leche League and they'll tell you that boobs and children simply don't mix. Yes, you bet I'm being extremely sarcastic right now, but one Disneyland worker would definitely argue in favor of keeping our womanly assets well hidden if we want to enjoy the happiest place on Earth. He even went as far as scolding a mom for letting her cleavage peek out!

Melissa Behnken was enjoying a day at the theme park with her Marine husband and three kids when an elderly male Disneyland worker reportedly approached her and told her she needed to "pull her top up." When she asked him if he was serious, he replied, "This is a family park. You are showing too much."

This trip was a first for Melissa and her family, and I'm sure anyone with a husband who is usually stationed elsewhere can understand how little precious vacation time military families get to enjoy together. Judging by the photos of Melissa and her family at the theme park, she is certainly NOT wearing anything that purposely exposes her breasts to the world. Based on the worker's concerns, I totally expected to see a woman wearing a string bikini -- not one clad in a pretty black shirt with sleeves.

Take a look:

I wasn't blessed with a big chest, but since I started breastfeeding, I've noticed it's pretty much impossible to hide my cleavage when I wear anything cut lower than a turtleneck. Oh well, that's just the way it is and so what -- big deal. The fact that this poor woman was more or less harassed for having a large chest that she probably can't hide no matter what she's wearing is ridiculous.

Melissa reportedly filed a formal complaint with Disneyland once she returned home -- good for her! As it turns out, the park has a policy that guests are not allowed to wear clothing that "exposes excessive portions of the skin." The problem with such a loosey-goosey rule is that my idea of inappropriate dress is going to be very different from that of an elderly male worker. Perhaps it would be worth their while to post specific articles of clothing that shouldn't be worn? You know, like, no bikini tops, no booty shorts, etc.?

Regardless, I'm not seeing how any worker -- no matter how old or young -- could have looked at Melissa and thought, Oooh, scandalous.

What do you think? Was this mom dressed in a way that was too hot for Disneyland?

That's crazy. Sounds like the worker was a little too obsessed with boobs.

Women should wear boob squishing turtlenecks! No upper chest curves allowed!

She looks perfectly fine to me.  I too have large breasts and it is difficult to fine a shirt that covers everything, especially in the summer.  don't like the feel of fabric on my neck, so I usually go for v-necks.  Even if she just wore that camisole looking thing under her shirt, that would still be appropriate, imo.

I was expecting a lot worse.

 This isn't a huge deal.

I have a feeling the problem comes into view, when she bends down and everything is showing. and a mom with little kids, bends down a lot.
