Nope. I had a 21 and over wedding. Not a single parent declined because their child wasn't invited.

No its not rude, course my big Q is will you be having a flower girl and/ring bearer in your wedding and if so will they or will they not be able to attend the reception.

I guess if think it kind of was. But I consider a wedding to be a big celebration of families, not a formal event. But other people feel differently.

Nope, not one little bit!!!  IT IS YOUR DAY!!!  You plan it and spend it exactly how you want to!!!  If there are people that you want to invite that have children I can assure you that they will LOVE to have an excuse to have a night out among adults and will do whatever it takes to find a sitter!!!!!
