 it was used to make sure babies that didn't have a yard to play in or lived in inner cities could get enough natural sunlight.

I don't know why anyone would think it was safe lol but it had good intentions

I think this is great! I'm sure they could make a safer version nowadays but this would be awesome!!!! I work mostly nights and am not able to usually take baby out during the day.... And living in ny I don't have much of a yard. Does anyone know who the maker of these were?

Didn't they use those as a way to get children vitamin D, and to fight jaundice?.

With proper installation this could e a safety measure for young children, not something for them to play in but we hear of kids Fallon out of windows a lot

Also reminds me of air conditioner holders, as I kid me and my brother use to crawl in them and pretend they were our club houses

 This is what I was thinking exactly.  My cat would love being able to have somewhere that he could be outside and look around but other animals couldn't get to him since he's declawed front and back :(
