Two ladies came in behind us. I told them to please go ahead because we had a big order. Before we got up to start our order, one more guy came in. We let him go ahead as well. I wanted to make sure no one was waiting when we started our big order.
Anyway, while the man was ordering and we were still waiting, the two ladies finished their order. One of the ladies walked by and shoved a $5 bill in my hand and she said, "Thank you for letting us go ahead." I was so shocked and taken off guard that I started stammering "no, no, no" and tried to hand it back to her. She said, "I insist." She absolutely refused to take it back. I almost started crying.
Then when the guy left, he came back over to me and patted me on the shoulder and in a very thick accent and slightly broken English, "You have Happy Easter, please" with the biggest, kindest smile on his face.
I just felt the love and gratitude. I really love people sometimes.
