I have a friend who is disabled and has a service dog that goes with him everwhere. He was invited to someones house for easter dinner yesterday. At the very last minute they tell him that he cant bring his service dog because there will be to many people and their are cats in the home. The service dog was professionally trained and doesn't leave friends side unless told otherwise. Ok, I can understand if you dont want a dog at your house. However if you know that someone has a service dog that goes everywhere with them, why would you even invite if you didn't want their dog too?

Doesn't this seem a little off?

Would you tell someone they couldn't bring their service dog to your house?

That is completely fucked up.   Do they not understand that people with service dogs actually NEED them at all times?  That's kind of like, the entire fucking point.

just my pet, I understand someone telling me to leave it home, but a service dog should be invited anywhere it's owner is

Nope!! My mother has a blind cousin and she always brought her service dog with her to family functions. He was a sweet dog and did what he was trained todo and never caused a problem. We would actually forget he was there half the time.

No animals are allowed in my home because of allergies BUT I would never, ever invite someone and tell them their service dog is not allowed. That is just plain tacky and rude.

They are probably uneducated about service dogs. I hope someone educates them.
