Is it really bad if you have stitches and don't get them removed on time? I have a couole stitches in my finger and kinda forgot about them. Now I'm little over a week past due to have them removed... My dh says that it will make them harder to remove and will be painful, but I think he's just screwing with me...
So there is my stupid question of the day... is it really tgat bad?

No. They should be loose. Clip them with scissors I or fingernail clippers and pull them out. You don't need a doctor for that.

I just remove them. Snip & pull.

They can be more painful to remove because the skin will start to grow over them.

It's not bad, just irritating usually.

I just snipped my own stitches. It's no biggie, you'll be fine.

Yep sure will hurt more, and make them harder to remove.

So like a splinter - just a tug or two once snipped?

Yes. Just snip the stitch with small scissors or nail clippers & then pull on the knot with tweezers. Should come right out.
