If a family is struggling to feed their children, should they give up their dogs/cats etc.. Feeding animals and animal care can get pretty pricey.. Wdyt?

Absolutely. A pet is not a necessity.

Unless you're going to eat it :-)

You can feed animals boiled rice and chicken with a few veggies. Google healthy homemade pet foods.

Fish food is cheap and i can get dog food cheap too. So no i wont give my dog up when i can get dog food for cheap. And by cheap i just got an 8 lb bag of puppy food for 2 bucks.

I'm not sure of my opinion, but if you're having a hard time putting food on the table for your family, how can you justify using extra food to feed animals? (General you)

No, but I don't think getting a new pet is a good idea if you're struggling. My animals are part of my family.

Well, if you can't afford food, I'm sure a dog or cat would make a good roast.

I agree if you're spending money on dog food that could go to your family.
