I don't mind sharing or helping out but sometimes my neighbors take it wayy too far.. Sunday we had a taco & margaritta party for my moms birthday & my neighbors came down here (wasn't invited ) they came with their kids and they are, after the party was over & my kitchen was getting cleaned they sent one of their kids down here to get them some more tacos,he left & came back again asking for tacos I make them a tray of tacos (about 9 tacos)& I took it down there, well the next day they came to my house asking for a bottle of dishwashing liquid,& some ice...the day after that they asked for a potato,& a cup of butter...day after that they asked for some eggs,& some seasoning salt, day after that they asked some ketchup & today they asked for so a bowl of pancake mix & some milk.... I just don't understand! The house they live in is 2 stories 6 bedrooms... They have 7adults &6 kids....every adult in that house gets foodstamps! I'm trying not to be rude, but it irritates me! Do you have neighbors like this? How do you deal with it?

No and I would flat out say they need to stop asking you for stuff. There's a walmart or whatever is around you area down the street. They keep asking because you keep giving it to them.

No, I don't. But I would be saying, sorry don't have that every time now. That's beyond ridiculous. I mean an egg here and there or some sugar or flour once in a while, no problem. But every day? Damn go to the store!! And who just goes to a neighbor's party with no invite? That's so rude and presumptuous!!

Yes, but I love my neighbour's and I take as much as I live. They are an old couple who never had children so they are like my kids surrogate aunt and uncle. They are bat shit crazy however, they keep Lions, sloths and a cheetah as pets so I don't like my kids going there.

The woman in particular can be over baring and intrusive, but I know she means well so I just usually suck it up and deal with it

No, but one of my daughter's friend's mother used to send her daughter to our house when she (the daughter) was hungry.

One time I sent the child home because I had been traveling all day and she practically lived at our house while I was gone. 15 minutes later her mother called me and asked me why I sent her home when we were getting ready to eat steak. I mean really!

That was 6 years ago, we've since moved.

It sounds like they are using you and taking advantage of your kindness. Thats BS! You don't deserve to be taken advantage of! Just stop giving them anything and they will get the hint.

Cut them off NOW. That's not just rude, that's trashy. Who invites themselves to someone's party and demands more food? Not ok

Yes and had to tell him no more. But he wasn't asking for food, car rides and money. He ask for $5 here or there occasionally a $20. But after Dh added up it was a $100 we never see again, even tho he said he pay us back. The car rides was getting out of hand. The kicker I was taking him to the casino 2-3 Times a week, guess here the money he asked for went. I don't mind helping out my neighbor s. And I have some really sweet ones. But he just took advantage so I Stopped helping, only took me a month. My other neighbors if they ask for food I get it back either by them taking me shopping or they make me a plate of whatever they're eating. It's a win win for us.
