potty trained

At what age was your child potty trained? If you have a boy and girl was it easier to potty train one of them? I have a boy and I've heard it's harder with boys. He's only 9 months but I'm looking for ideas on what may be more successful.

All of mine have been trained right around their 3rd bdays. According to what I've read here, they were behind the curve.

Dd was 21 months. She started holding it and showings signs at 16 months but she was terrified of the potty. We stopped trying and she did it on her own at 21 months. I've heard boys are harder I only have one though. I also use praise and treats during the first few weeks and no underwear or diapers.

Big sister to be!

I waited until my son seemed ready. He was almost 2.5 yo. The day I started all it took catching him peeing on floor once praising the heck out of him and he has used the potty since. The first day there was lots of bribery with treats every time he went.

Boys are no different to train than girls.

Boys and girls typically do not potty train before 2.  The avg. age is between 2 1/2 and right before 3yrs old.

I have been training children for over 20 yrs.
