If you have a hamster...........

How often do you change the bedding? I bought my son a teddy bear hamster a month or so ago and I have her in a 10 gallon fishtank. I buy the pine bedding because its cheaper and I have been changing it once a week. It really doesn't seem like that is often enough but twice a week seems like to much.  Maybe I should pay a little more and buy the recycled paper bedding instead?

I'm going to be honest, fish tanks make HORRIBLE habitats for small critters like hamsters. There isn't enough air flow.

I used to change mine twice a week.

I change it once a week. If you put newspaper under the pine it makes it cleaner and easier to clean.

It's true, fish tanks are for fish.

I have a screen top on it. I just thought the tank would be better because I didn't want her kicking bedding out and making a mess. I have some pretty severe ocd and I can't handle that.
