I was reading some replies in another post and was surprised how many simply didn't have A/C (not because they couldn't afford it but they didn't want one). I live (in Oklahoma) where it can get 115 degrees NOT counting the humidity. It's bad. When i was younger we lived without A/C for a couple of summers (because we were poor and it went out) and it was awful, even with fans. Ceiling fans IMO are a must.

DH and i bought a house with a whole house fan/attic fan, we can open the windows and it will cool the house with no problem if it's about 80 degrees or less (especially at night), which is normal about this time of year (though it can get past 90) and it saves on the power bill (always nice!).

it's barely hitting 65 degrees as of now, AC isn't needed.

I live in North Carolina, to me AC is a need, not a want.

In NJ I could not live without my ac in the summer. It's not hot enough for it just yet though.

Yes, and they are always on, even with ceiling fans. It has hit triple digits already. We keep it at 76-78 and our electric bill is usually $400+ per month in the summer. And we have the "cheap" company.

It went out for a week last summer and I sent my kids to stay with relatives. I'm in missouri and we get in the triple digits often, it's dangerous.

Yes, we do have it and we use it when it's summer. It helps the kiddos.

But the managers office has it
