Mother's Day without your mom? Need advice.

I'm a superstitious person.

Last year was my Uncle's 50th birthday in Feb, we all had Mother's Day breakfast together on May 12th at a certain restaurant, then he passed away on the 13th, the very next day.

This year, my dad just turned 50. My mom invited all the kids and family and friends just like last year to the same restaurant on Sunday.

I am superstitious, and I asked if we could change the restaurant, could we go somewhere else? She says, "NO, You argue too much, no wonder why you don't have any friends, Just stay home."

I'm kind of upset. I am not going tomorrow, it's my Mother's Day, too. It shouldn't be a big deal, especially when we were all invited to go Thursday night. And we are all paying for ourselves.

That's just silly. Go or don't go, that's your choice, just like it's their choice.

Maybe you should go where you want with your own family?

It's a silly argument imo.  This would be one of those things that I would say "you know what you can't let superstition rule your life'.  I'd go.

I know I'm the worst person ever. Any advice? Besides just to suck it up buttercup and go? I don't want to ever go back there.
