Does it depend on the type of scars?

to me it depends on the type of scar and where it is.

I have one scar across my stomach right above my belly button and a smaller one on the side from stomach surgery and I wear crop tops and bikinis all the time

Depends on the story behind the scar, what it looks like now, and location of said scar.

I let mine show. If people ask about them I'm honest without really giving out too much information.

I just let them show.  Not much I can do about my scars unless I dress in a burka.

The scars I have are on my right arm (biggest ones on the back upper arm). At first I tried to keep them covered, but they have grown on me. They show I survived.

I have scars on my arms from self-harm as a teen. Sometimes I'm very self-conscious about them and try to cover them, but for the most part I just let it go. I'm not going to bake in long-sleeved shirts all summer.
