The tantrum to top all tantrums

My son has been having a tantrum for 30 freaking minutes! After the first 5 minutes he ran face first into a chair (he kind of flung himself, but he did it on purpose. 10 minutes later I put him up in his high chair for dinner. He's still crying! Just screaming and throwing stuff. Several times I tried to talk to him or distract him but nope, he's not having it. He's 18 months, and this whole thing started because he woke up. FML- I'm starting to get a headache!

As long as he can't hurt himself, ignore him. Don't look at him, don't talk to him.

I tried that first. He broke my glasses and pulled a chunk of hair out of my head

Sit him down and let him get it all out. It sounds like he is still sleepy. Just cuddle next to him, eventually he will get exhausted. At that point I would give him a nice long bath and offer him his food again.
