Fever? Bug bites?
I've only taken my DS to the ER and that is because he got a hold of my great aunts Alzheimer's medication when he was 2. I took DS to the Urgent care office for a hurt knee to but it isn't the same as the ER.
We don't take our kids to the ER if it isn't an absolute emergency.
All of our ER visits have been necessary.
A bloody stool, turns out it was just to much cranberry juice, she was 6 months
I've never had to take my oldest in for anything (he is 8 now).
My 3 1/2 yearold has been in twice for seizures... both times our Dr told us to go in. The second time I wasnt goign to because they did nothing the 1st time but he had 3 little ones within 10minutes and it was bedtime & i was afraid to let him sleep like that so we called our Dr and they told us to take him in. They didnt do anything so we would not do that again
I take my kid to the urgent care center. The only time she's been to the ER was when she was 4 and had the croup and for an ear infection that caused her ear drum to burst in the middle of the night after the urgent care center had closed.
Bug bites are serious!! Mosquitos can kill!!
Seriously though, I have only ever taken my children to the ER if recommended by their pediatrician.
When my older dd was a baby took her for what turned out to be pink eye. Her eyes where so bad sh couldn't open them (very goopy). It was the weekend and her ped's office was closed I called their service and the on call doc told me to take her there and then bring her to the office Monday.
