I don't baby proof my house I simply discipline my children. I don't spank or speak harshly. I very gently yet firmly say "NO" when they touch things they shouldn't. I also don't leave them unsupervised. If I need to use restroom or can't keep baby in site I use a pack n play or jumperoo. The pic shows a remote control that he knows he isn't allowed to have. I am sitting across from him. He reached for remote a couple of times I told him no and gave him a toy each time. Now he has stopped reaching for the remote. We used this approach with each child and by 18 months they knew not to get into things they weren't supposed to.

There's a big difference between a baby touching a remote and a baby touching an electrical socket. I don't consider a remote control having anything to do with baby proofing.

So what happens when you child learns to climb out of the pack and play? Or gets too big for the jumperoo? All three of mine learned to climb really early.
