Would you be upset if your 19yo refused to help with this?

My 19yo daughter Emily moved out 4 months ago. I'd like her to come to my house (15 minutes away) to help babysit her half siblings (3 and 5) once a week so that I can get a part-time job and help my husband with our tight finances.

She has said no, because she's busy with her (4 days a week, well paying, modelling/promotional) work schedule and wants to hang out with her friends (translation: party) on the weekends. She has also said her siblings "don't listen" to her. I know they're a handful (I've been a SAHM until now!), but they do love her.

Would you expect her to help out or be upset with her if she didn't?

If she doesn't want to do it, you can just pay the babysitter what you would have paid her. Not a huge deal. I'm sure the babysitter will do just fine.

Oh wait, you wanted free childcare, huh?

Your children are not her responsibility in any way, shape, or form.

No. Not her problem.
Are you going to pay her if she is your babysitter?

They aren't her children so no, I wouldn't expect her to help out.

She moved out- no obligations left to help every week. It would be a nice gesture on her part, but to expect free babysitting weekly... Yeah, no way.
