What the hell is this??? It was laying on the beach tonight? Leathery skin so dry bones sticking out it was 5ft by 2ft sooo strange we tried to lift it it was heavy as hell! I'm on cape cod ma I will be calling woods hole marine biologists in the morning to check this out!

UPDATE 1 5-19 10 am ~~~~

I called WHOI (woods hole oceanographic institute) right at 9 am they told me to call New England aquarium, national marine mammal stranded & endangerment hotline, NOAA fisheries (national oceanic atmospheric administration) and Provincetown center for coastal studies.
Only the hotline answered I gave all info on the location & my contact info & offered to meet who ever comes on the beach. Left voice mails on all the other numbers that WHOI gave me. I took more pics now that it's day time and was able to get pics of the other side.
Updated pics are on page 8 of this post

It's so weird there were no tentacles or fins. It wasn't scaly like a fish. I have grown up on the cape my whole life swam in the ocean here walked the beach never have I seen anything like it. I'm sure the biologists at whoi will know

If it was scavenged the extremities are usually the first to be eaten, so there could have been fins.
