And I am still going.

I don't ask for discounts unless there is a sign saying they give one or I know from an email of something.

I don't expect to get thanks for what I do. I don't do it for that. I do it so that maybe my kids won't have to. I love my job. I love the opportunities the military has given me.

When I am thanked for my service....it kind of embarrasses me. But I say thank you to them. Because obviously they support me and what I do.

That is all.

Lol!! DH is on terminal leave, but has had his retirement ceremony. I'd never behave the way that lunatic did.

Thanks! Did you get that it's her BOYFRIEND, not even her husband? Not that him being her DH would excuse that behavior, but...

Quoting Anonymous: Congrats to him.

I never ask for discounts, if they have one when they see my card that says "Navy Federal" they offer it to me.

Thanks for your service. I served 6 years and my husband is still active duty going on 8 years. I sometimes ask if a store has a discount but more in a joking tone and just say "okay" if they don't. It's no big deal. But I have never expected it or demanded it or threw a fit if I didn't get one.
