last day of school, got in trouble

There's a color system in ds' class... each warning means he has to move his clip to another color.

Usually, its only a single move. Always for talking.

Except today.... some kids were being annoying to him and instead of moving or even telling the teacher, he decided to pinch them. They pinched back so he scratched back.

At school, he had to talk with the counselor. He does have a slight anger problem, but until today, he's managed to keep it under control (last year, he got in two fights)...

What should the punishment be at home? The next 2 weeks, our days are filled with practice (on the go from 9am until 8:30pm)... I won't let him miss practices, testing or games... but then it feels wrong to wait 2 weeks to say, you're grounded, this is your punishment for pinching/scratching

Straight to bed after dinner. Extra chores around the house. There's lots of things to do for punishment

Extra chores, no tv or video games, no staying up late, no hanging out with friends when there is down time, etc.

No wonder he has an anger problem. It doesn't sound like he ever gets a day off.

Maybe let him know that he is in trouble but because of activities punishment will not start until you are done with them.  Mark the day on the calendar and be sure to tell him what the punishment will be and then show him when the punishment starts and what will happen.

Football camp from 9-12, then summer reading program from 1-4... karate starts at 6:30 (we have to leave at 5:30 to get there on time).. goes until 8:30...

I signed ds up for football months ago. Thurs, I learned ds will be testing for his next belt in karate, which means practice goes from two days a week to 5 days (6th day is optional). He just got his yellow in march so I thought it would take another session before he'd be eligible for testing.

June 13th is his last day for football, june 14 is his belt testing. After that, he does another reading program, but that's from 9-11am, then its freedom, minus the two days for karate (6:30-8:30)
