1000 dollars a month for a 3 bedroom 2 bath house? My mother just moved into this house and will pay about 650 a month for 2 bedrooms 1 bath. It is a really nice house lots of space although it really lacks closet space but not really a big deal right now. Well this house use to be 3 bedrooms 2 baths but the back master bedroom was separated into a tiny studio apartment. My dh figured they were charging between 300-400 a month for that one room. So the owner had my mom and the woman going to live in the back apartment move in at the same time so they will get about 1000 a month for this one house. My dh said that is pretty expensive and that if it was just a regular house it would probably only be about 800 a month. So do you think 1000 is a lot for a house?

That's about average in OKC in an okay neighborhood.

$1000 is About what a 2 bedroom house runs here if you're lucky.

I'd pay $1000 for a 3/2. We pay $950 for a 2/2 for less than 1,100 sq ft home. No backyard, just a patio.

Depends on the neighborhood, area of town, condition of the house, etc.

I live in Texas & we have a whole lot of cheap housing...but you aren't going to find a house for $800 a month anywhere, and if it's in a bad neighborhood, then $1000 might be the going rate.  Here, it's $1500 at least for a decent house.  I should add, a decent house in a so-so school district.  Go to the nicer places & it's way more than that.

Most nice apartments are $1200 & up for 1 bedrooms.

It totally depends on location.  You wouldn't find a closet for that in Manhattan.  But in a small town in the midwest, you could get a mansion for a $1000 a month.
