I'm not surprised. Very few agreed with her. She wanted everyone to bash her DH and that wasn't happening.

I've practically sat on my kids to keep them still for a splinter removal. How else would you get it out if they're acting crazy????

Im not going to bash the husband because Mom could have and should have put a stop to it if she were truly that opposed to it.

BUT DANG, It is a splinter...a nuisance. Not something worthy if holding a screaming child down over. Infection risk is minimal..If ut couldn't be easily removed with tweezers, leaving it alone for a day or three would probably find it having worked itself out. It should not have escalated into huge terrifying ordeal. It was a splinter...

If it were bad enough that it needed immediate attention due to risk of infection, it probably needed a doctor and script for antibiotic...highly unlikely, though.

I have two teenagers. I can count on 1 hand, how many times I have removed a splinter from both. I don't need any hands or fingers to count how many infections they have had due to splinters we have left alone.

It's just a splinter...nothing worth some huge, blown out tantrum.

Someone was upset at their dh for helping their ds.

Majority of the responses were on her dh's side
