Mil just came over while I was making lunch for ds and dd and went on a horrible rant on how I was starving my children for my "diet fad". I'm overweight mainly because I was lazy and let my self go but I also have medical issues that contributed to it so it's 50/50 I'd say. Now mind you neither one of my children are overweight never have been and neither is dh. Dh is very skinny and my children have always been in the 10th percentile for weight. They are skinny, nothing I can do about it short of feeding them junk 24/7 which I refuse to do. I asked her what she wanted me to feed them.. Cakes, candies, ice cream, McDonald's??? She stormed off saying that she was going to sonic to get them "real" food to put meat on their bones because I'm a selfish bitch and can't feed them right. (Ummm excuse me wtf!? Take your meds dumb bitch!) no i didn't say that to her. I told her do what you feel is right and she walked out and I locked the door behind her and looked out the window and told her not to come back or I'd call the cops to escort her off my property. I can't call or text dh due to him being at work but I do plan on telling him about this. I have no clue what her problem is. The picture attached is a typical lunchtime meal for them. Thoughts???

They are 7 & 3 and do not eat that much. For people saying it seems so small. You have to remember my kids are small and not the average child's weight which is hefty or overweight now days. Not to be mean but my children don't fall into that. They didn't even finish what was on the plates. They can have snacks whenever they want. They actually complain about eating again. Lol

& yes dh came home and was completely on my side. He is pissed at mil.

That wouldn't be enough for my boys, but every child's appetite is different.  If they aren't complaining of hunger and/or you do more frequent, smaller meals, I don't see a problem.

Looks like a great lunch! My boys would have eaten 3 or 4 plates of that but I'd much rather see a kid eat that than freaking Sonic.

I do larger breakfast and smaller lunches with larger dinner time meals. With them also able to grab fruits and veggies for snacks and yes they do get some junk like cheese its and stuff like that in moderation but my children pick like birds at food. Not big eaters at all.

It looks like a nice lunch, what a bizarre thing to get all worked up about.

She's nuts. That looks like a normal healthy lunch.
